Legal & Service Agreement

Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: October 15, 2026•Last Updated: October 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or executing URL scans on Broken Link Checkers (brokenlinkcheckers.com), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of the Service

Broken Link Checkers provides an automated, browser-based online web analysis tool designed to inspect hyperlinks, evaluate HTTP status codes (such as 200, 301, 302, 404, 500), map redirect paths, and test in-page DOM anchor hash targets (#target) for web quality assurance and SEO audit purposes.

The service is offered to the public free of charge, with no mandatory subscription or registration.

3. Acceptable Use Policy & Crawler Conduct

To protect the stability of our infrastructure and the target websites we audit, you agree to adhere to the following usage principles:

  • Authorization: You agree that you only submit URLs belonging to domains that you own, operate, or have explicit authorization to inspect and audit.
  • No Denial of Service (DoS): You shall not use this service to overwhelm third-party web servers with excessive, distributed, or hostile requests intended to disrupt availability.
  • No Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF): Submitting private IP addresses (e.g. 127.0.0.1, localhost, 10.0.0.0/8, or cloud metadata endpoints) is strictly prohibited and blocked by our security gateway.
  • No Circumvention: You agree not to bypass security controls, automated rate limits, or crawler safety mechanisms implemented on our platform.

4. Accuracy & Technical Limitations

While our scanning engine utilizes modern HTTP request techniques and DOM parsing, you acknowledge the inherent technical realities of the World Wide Web:

  • Certain third-party web servers employ anti-bot systems (e.g., Cloudflare Under Attack mode, Akamai Bot Manager, AWS WAF, CAPTCHAs) that may reject automated inspection requests with HTTP 403 or 429 status codes despite being accessible in a desktop browser.
  • Heavy client-side JavaScript Single Page Apps that inject links asynchronously after extensive user interaction may not expose every link to initial HTML parsing.
  • We do not warrant that our scan reports will be 100% complete, error-free, or uninterrupted under all network conditions.

5. Intellectual Property

All branding, logos, website layout, diagnostic algorithms, software code, user interface designs, and documentation on Broken Link Checkers are the exclusive intellectual property of Broken Link Checkers. You may freely use, share, and export diagnostic tables and audit reports generated for your websites.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR TIMELINESS.

7. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall Broken Link Checkers, its maintainers, or hosting partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, crawl budget, or organic rankings) resulting from your access to or inability to use our link checking engine.

8. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms and Conditions at our sole discretion. Any modifications become effective immediately upon being posted to this page with an updated effective date.
